Twirlers that is. The United States Twirling Association (USTA) will be holding their 50th Anniversary this coming July in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The dates are July 17th, 18th & 19th with a very special party that final evening of the 19th. Fred & Marlene have already made plans to attend this gala event, and are encouraging YOU to join them for this momentous occasion.

The Huntington Thunderers and their director Gloria Smith are planning on a presence, and the event would not be complete without the presence of the legend known as "The Blackhawks" as well.

In 1976, the Blackhawks defeated the Thunderers in Miami Beach, and that was the last time the Thunderers ever competed in a USTA National Contest. Three years later, in 1979 the Blackhawks made their final appearance in Norfolk, saluting the Thunderers in their performance, and thus ended an era of pageantry that will never be forgotten in USTA and the twirling field in general.

As an important part of this piece of twirling history, you are invited to join us in representing the Miller's Blackhawks one more time for a fun trip down memory lane! The clouds may rumble with the "thunder" of days gone by...But the Blackhawks will fly to reclaim the sky!

The Blackhawks will begin practice on Thursday, July 17th in Daytona. The first meeting will be held in the lobby of the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Walk Village promptly at 4:00pm. So pull that old stick out and start practicing, because the Hawks will be performing a 2-3 minute routine that Saturday the 19th!!!
